Cricket

Had an unusual day at the cricket today - went to watch Essex 2nd XI play the Afghanistan national team. the Afghans are an emerging nation having learnt to play the game in refugee camps in Pakistan during the Taliban rule. Cricket is now 2nd only to their national sport ofBuzkashi ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buzkashi )

On today's showing they could be quite useful in a few years.

Essex 2nd XI 238-9 off 40 overs (Will Jefferson 65, Graham Napier 96)
Afghanistan 242-9 off 39.2 overs (Napier 3-24)

Afghanistan won by one wicket
